This key job is responsible for maintaining assigned systems and facilities, including assessing needs, overseeing equipment, hiring process, and scheduling, training, and supervising staff, managing related budgets, and submitting requested reports. Responsible for the maintenance of the Bryce Jordan Center. Maintain all mechanical systems utilized; identify maintenance needs, as well as, develop and ensure state-of-the-art technical support. Schedule staff and equipment to meet workload requirements, cost effectiveness, and maintain year around support operations for facilities. Establish and maintain contacts with outside vendors, plus manage and monitor capital investment projects with outside vendors. Also, establish policies and procedures for facilities, safety, and security issues. Act as liaison with groups using facilities, Police Services and Risk Management departments of Penn State. Oversee, snow removal, pest control, and sanitation. Meet with regulatory officials such as Fire Marshal and other state inspectors. May act as key custodian. Process time cards and vacation requests. Provide back up support for other supervisors as required. Collect and maintain data/information. Develop and maintain relationships with internal customers; resolve issues. Identify training needs; ensure training is completed; maintain accurate records. Hours will vary based on the time of year and needs of the operation, evenings, overnights, weekends, holidays may be required. Typically requires an Associate's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as part of your job responsibilities. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to a standard background check.
