To support our pursuit, we are looking for an Assistant General Manager who will differentiate our level of service and the experience for our guests. This position is responsible for the overall event operations and event booking for the Rose Quarter Facilities which includes 20,000-seat Moda Center, 12,000-seat Veterans Memorial Coliseum, 6,500-seat Theater of the Clouds, 40,000-square foot Exhibit Hall and the Rose Quarter Commons.
You will be responsible for:
Supporting the General Manager to ensure the successful outcome for events and overall success of Rose Quarter business operations.
Leading and developing the Event Sales, Event Management, Security, and Guest Services teams.
Strategizing and developing new revenue generating opportunities to meet and exceed our business goals including but not limited to national bids, proposals, and local community relationship building.
Managing and lead day-to-day event operations.
Approving annual arena event operating budgets and event mix for each fiscal year’s company budgeting process.
Assessing staff levels for events. Manage event finances, including budget preparation, forecasting, and strategic planning leading to positive financial results.
Establishing and implementing appropriate policies and procedures that cultivate an efficient, effective, and welcoming arena and event center operation.
Coordinating with facility departments and outside vendors to anticipate, identify and resolve booked show issues
WHL Tenant: Act as day-to-day liaison with Winterhawks sales/operation lead.
You are qualified if:
You have a Bachelor's degree or 7 years of related experience in managing facility event operations.
IAVM membership & completed Public Facility Management School and or Graduate Institute at Oglebay a plus.
You are amazing at building and maintaining growing teams.
You have a proven ability to lead guest experience efforts across multiple departments.
You have a history of bold marketing and sales operations.
You have development experience in an executive capacity.
You possess strong planning, public relations, negotiating and motivational skills.
You have excellent written and oral communication skills, and capable of preparing and delivering impromptu speeches and interviews.
You maintain current, reliable knowledge of industry and marketplace.
