The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for an Assistant Athletics Director, Events Operations. This is an administrative and supervisory position in the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics (ICA). The position is responsible for the support and coordination of all University of Nevada, Reno event personnel involved in the management of all home athletic events, as well as other University, commercial and non-profit events held in ICA facilities. The position oversees all bookings, cost estimates, and contract negotiations for commercial and non-profit events. Generally, the event oversight includes football and volleyball in the fall season, men’s and women’s basketball in the winter, baseball and softball in the spring, and assigned commercial events throughout the year. The incumbent is responsible for hiring, evaluation of and, if necessary, dismissal of all permanent employees, involved in the development and oversight of a budget for the basketball facility. In addition to duties on the day of the event, the Assistant Athletics Director, Events is responsible for development of game management manuals for each sport and for all preliminary planning of each event.
The incumbent is a senior member of the Facilities & Events Management Department Team and participates in departmental strategic planning, budget oversight and personnel management. The position reports to the Senior Associate Athletics Director, Internal Operations.

The Director is responsible for development and oversight of a budget which must break even, as no state funding is available for LEC operation. Individual functions as the liaison with university, city and state agencies and representatives and serves as the primary public relations representative to local media and community leaders on behalf of LEC.
