The primary responsibility of this position is to plan, organize, direct and oversee the operations at our Aronoff Center for the Arts location; and serve as a member of the Senior Staff management team of the Cincinnati Arts Association.
Essential duties include, but are not limited to:
•Primary responsibility for directing and coordinating all operational functions and activities -Evaluates and directs event support services including events and front-of-house staff and work events as required -Evaluates and directs technical support for programs and events -Evaluates and directs facility management including custodial and security services, maintenance/engineering -Evaluates and directs food, beverage concessions operations -Evaluates and directs services of contract labor -Evaluate and plan all use of facility and facility modifications -Liaison to the Board of Trustees via Chief Operating Officer as it relates to Aronoff Center issues and activity -Advises the Chief Operating Officer on the status of operational projects •Evaluates and directs overall department structure including hiring of staff, job descriptions, training and evaluation -Direct supervision of full-time staff as required -Oversee additional part-time, events-related staff and supports volunteer program •Creates and supports a culture of excellence in customer service •Creates and reviews the systems and procedures of the operations department -Evaluates and assesses projects, policies and procedures -Maintain and update Operations manuals for Security, Front-of-House, and Technical -Oversee coordination with appropriate authorities and outside organizations regarding safety and security of facility, patrons, and staff -Develop and disseminate house rules for all user groups, residents, and staff •Primary liaison and advocate to resident clients as it relates to coordinating and assuring smooth interaction with operations and efficient use of all facility resources -Schedule -Policy -Coordination of booking -Financial transactions •Fiscal Duties -Budgeting: operational and capital -Develop event budgets -Costs out programs and events -Preparation of long range event and facility plans, budgets and forecasts with the Chief Operating Officer -Asserts an entrepreneurial spirit to develop new revenues •Booking -Rates -Rules -Contract process, tracking, signing •Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Operating Officer

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Ability to work demanding and flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
Experience Required: B.A. or B.S. degree in management or related field from an accredited college or university, and a minimum of five year’s arts management/related management experience.
Skills and Knowledge Required: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, self-motivated, self-starter, personable, well organized. Proficiency with word-processing and spreadsheets. Has excellent verbal and written communication and supervisory skills.
