The Hattiesburg Convention Commission is a leader in Hattiesburg’s vibrant visitor industry with six facilities: The Lake Terrace Convention Center, The Saenger Theater, African American Military History Museum, Eureka School Museum, The Oseola McCarty Home (under construction) and the Hattiesburg Zoo. The Senior Event Coordinator along with the Event Services Manager will serve as the Lake Terrace Convention Center representative for events. To keep events at the Convention Center rolling, the Senior Event Coordinator will plan, organize and supervise events within the facility to ensure that the client’s desires are being met.
As a Senior Event Coordinator, a typical day might include the following:
•Assign various events and projects to Event, Set-up and Part-time staff •Complete weekly schedule for event staff •Finalize leasing contract between ABC Committee •Iron out a billing issue from a previous event with XYZ and Associates •Meet with 123 Entertainment Company to determine staging needs for an upcoming event •Attend weekly Operations Meeting with Event, Food and Beverage, Set-up and AV Staff •Brainstorm with Set-up Department to come up with new piping drape designs
