The Georgia World Congress Center is currently seeking a Project Manager to join our team.
The Project Manager shall be responsible for assisting the Project & Program Director in administration of projects as assigned, to include, capital improvement, facility maintenance, facility expansion, cataloging and maintaining blueprints and operations and maintenance manuals. The position shall provide contract administration and scheduling coordination with Georgia World Congress Center Authority departments to ensure work is performed with minimal impact on business.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Administer and supervise day-to-day capital improvement and contract activities associated with facility expansion, capital improvement, and facilities and renovation projects.
Serve as liaison between the Georgia World Congress Center Authority and architects, contractors, engineers and other persons or agencies in the administration of projects.
Maintain records and provide the Building Maintenance & Project Manager with weekly status report of all projects.
Monitor cost and performance of work associated with all projects.
Review all contractor payment applications for projects, maintain records and make recommendations to the Project and Program Management Director regarding payment of associated invoices and payment applications.
Coordinate owner’s inspections of projects including final inspections and commissioning.
Coordinate and facilitate pre-construction and progress meetings with contractors.
Ensure that all contractors comply with terms and conditions of contracts.
Catalog and maintain all facility blueprints.
Participate in weekly departmental meetings as required.
Participate in and/or facilitate industry-related training.
Plan, organize, prioritize and assign long-range work assignments and assist in creating long-range capital improvement budgets.
Catalog and maintain all departmental operations and maintenance manuals, to include incorporating additions and revisions, and removing deletions.
Coordinate with other departmental managers and supervisors, the use of resources such as equipment.
Supplies, work schedules and assignment of personnel in order to maximize the efficiency of overall departmental duties and responsibilities, and to conserve costs.
Maintain a professional image that represents the philosophy of the Georgia World Congress Center Authority with emphasis on providing clients and exhibitors the highest level of customer service deemed possible.
Position requires an irregular work schedule, and performance of work assignments that may not be directly related to job specifications.
Perform such other duties, functions, special projects, and responsibilities as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Valid Georgia driver’s license
Three (3) years’ experience in commercial construction or similar field, demonstrating project management responsibilities
Bachelor’s degree in Science Construction Management, Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred
Experience working for a multi-purpose facility servicing major exhibition, entertainment or meeting oriented events preferred
