Summary: Direct oversight of the Daily and Event Operation of the three venues; Arena, Ice Hall and Pikes Peak Center. Inclusive to this is budgeting with a focus of expense control with respect to utilities, grounds and ongoing maintenance, building operating equipment and supplies, maintenance contracts, equipment maintenance/repairs, electronic communications (including scoreboard, marquee, computer network system, wifi, cable television, point of sales and phones), electrical, fire and safety systems, rigging/fall protection, carpentry, housekeeping, HVAC, Conversion.
Job Description and Responsibilities: •Assist in the preparation of annual building operations budget to include non-event operating expenses. •Establish and enforce Department safety guidelines to include required legal compliance for building permits and licensing. •Recommend improvement projects and capital repairs/replacement with special focus on conservation of daily operating expenses. •Supervise all building maintenance and repair projects to include internal staff and sub-contracted services. •Maximize control of building automation systems to balance the most cost-effective usage and guest needs. •Facilitate equipment training guidelines with special attention to building fire safety systems, automation controls and OSHA mandated guidelines. •Assist in obtaining bid proposals for contract work, annual preventive maintenance contracts and warranty repairs. •Supervise property loss prevention program with emphasis on established safety protocols, practices and OSHA mandated guidelines. •Develop maintenance programs for all operating equipment with special attention to include, but not limited to fire safety, HVAC, Electronic communication, Rigging/Fall protection. •Direct oversight, supervision and counseling of staff in performing duties consistent with the Department’s annual Budget Operating objectives and guest needs. •Develop monthly billing for charge backs to tenants. •Project long range capital improvements and operating forecasts relevant to fiscal operation of building equipment upgrades. •Oversee snow removal plan consistent with safety, guest needs and budget to ensure that all venues are maintained. •Participate in Event coverage as it relates to building operations. •Other projects as they pertain to the Department.

Bachelor’s degree (BA) in area applicable to facility management, or the entertainment industries and a minimum of five years industry experience; at least three of those years in a management function of a convention center, arena, theatre, or stadium; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Working knowledge of trades
Working knowledge of sports and entertainment industry
Clearly demonstrated problem-solving ability
Excellent organizational, planning, inter-personal, and written and verbal communication skills

The Broadmoor World Arena located in Colorado Springs, Colorado is an 8,000 seat multi-purpose arena and entertainment venue. In addition to the main arena, the adjacent Ice Hall contains two practice rinks, one NHL-sized and one Olympic-sized. The World Arena also manages the Pikes Peak Center for the Performing Arts, located in downtown Colorado Springs.
