The University of Utah’s Stadium and Arena Event Services department has an immediate opening for an experienced manager of events and client services. The Client Services Manager serves as the primary contact for event planners hosting educational, corporate, social, athletic or entertainment events at Rice-Eccles Stadium and Tower. Functions range in attendance from 10 to 45,000+ and the Client Services Manager is responsible for effectively communicating program details to operational teams, appropriate University departments and involved third parties.
•Serve as the primary event planning contact for assigned clients and act as liaison between the client, venue, University and third parties
•Meet and conduct walkthroughs with clients to determine event scope, needs and budget while establishing all venue rules, regulations and policies that apply
•Timely production and distribution of event orders, information sheets, layouts and timelines to allSAESdepartments
•Coordinate services with vendors and appropriate University entities including catering, AV, parking, ushers, security, etc.
•Maintain frequent, direct communication with clients throughout the planning process so timelines are followed and changes are efficiently managed
•Deliver and monitor client financial documents including pre-event budgets, event orders and post event settlements
•Attend weekly team meetings and one-on-one meetings with direct reports
•Coach, counsel and support client services department supervisors and assistants

Bachelor’s degree in a related field*, or equivalency (2 years related work experience may be substituted for 1 year of education) and demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills required.
*A related field may include one or more of the following: Business, Communications, Hotel Management/Hospitality, or Exercise/Sport Science.
Applicants are required to work a varying schedule including nights, weekends and holidays and must be able to work outdoors under varying temperatures and weather conditions.

A minimum of four years coordinating contracted events at venues such as hotels, convention centers, banquet halls, stadiums and arenas.
Demonstrated computer skills including proficiency with event management and diagramming software.
