This position provides managerial, operational and administrative support to the Event Operations Manager. This position assists the execution of all activities in Event Services including leading staff activities in the setup and tear down of events. This position is responsible for overseeing the setup, staffing and operations of all technology deployed for the event. This position will assist with the administrative duties such as scheduling and payroll. This position will develop and deliver training to all full-time, student, and temporary staff. He/she will assist with scheduling and oversight of equipment repair and maintenance. They will advise leadership about needed equipment and software. The Event Operations Coordinator works closely with customers and Event Managers. He/she must interpret details and direct staff to execute customer/Event Manager instructions.
Job Function: Manage and complete the timely, accurate, and organized execution of Office of Event Services events on and off campus as assigned by the Event Operations Manager.
Job Function:Supervise and facilitate the conversion of event spaces with oversight of full-time and part-time staff in the Arena and conference centers. Create drawings and communicate needs to staff.
Under the direction of the Event Operations Manager, and in close consultation with the other Event Operations Coordinators, complete staff scheduling for all events including the deployment of full time, part time (100+), contract labor (20+) and FWS staff (40+).
Job Function: Assist the Event Operations Manager in all maintenance functions and projects as it applies to the Office of Event Services. Maintain equipment and asset inventory.
Job Function: Coordinate and support events from an operations, front of house, or technical role as assigned by the Event Operations Manager and the Director, Office of Event Services.
Job Function: Evaluate technical equipment specified for each event. Provide supervision and assistance with the setup, testing, operation and strike of all technical equipment required.
Job Function: Provide training to all operations and event services staff on technical equipment, processes, and procedures in accordance with all universities and standards.

Candidate must have knowledge of, including, but not limited to the operation of a multi-use event center, audio and video production equipment, digital audio, stage lighting, digital lighting control, athletic event management, staging set up, aerial rigging and event production.
Must be able to create and maintain spreadsheet data in MS Excel and use MS Word. Prefer candidate with room-scheduling software expertise, specifically EMS, Shiftboard and CAD/Microsoft Visio experience.
Experience working in a fast-paced environment and the ability to respond to high-pressure situations. Ability to thrive in an environment of hard work.
Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
1-2 years experience in an arena, theater, convention center or hospitality operations/sales. Equivalent education may be substituted.
Bachelor’s degree with preferred with course of study in business, finance or equivalent experience 2 to 1.
Position requires standing, lifting, pulling, pushing, carrying and climbing. Must be able to reach both high and low. Frequently requires walking and balancing. Requires sitting, repetitious finger and wrist movement, speaking clearly, hearing conversations, hearing (with acuity), seeing near and far with depth perception and color vision. This position requires the ability to lift 60 pounds and to work irregular hours.
