This position will report directly to the Technical Production Director. The A/V Production Manager will lead a team to support all audio, visual and I.T. It is essential that this position builds a strong, collaborative working relationship with the entire organization including Marketing, Ministry, Bookings, Maintenance and Security to assist in planning, coordination and execution of the production of concerts, Spiritual and Special events, as well as the operating departments using the house systems and equipment. This includes working with artists and client managers to procure any rental of equipment necessary to produce, as well as additional production needs. This also includes coordinating temporary rigging and electrical distribution. This role is responsible for the design and implementation of audio-visual infrastructure and solutions, including operating, maintaining, distributing, installing, configuring, repairing, and upgrading various electronic products while ensuring optimal performance and maintaining United Palace inventory. It is critical that end-user training and assistance is provided by A/V team members as well as Technical Support services team members. This position will work closely with Information Technology to provide digital signage solutions as well as integrated, state of the art audio and video solutions. Includes responsibilities of Audio Dept., Lighting, inclusive-spiritual (interfaith) Church Services, Livestream Broadcasts and Studio Operations.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Promotes superior guest service.services to all visitors, promoters and production crews. Responsible for supervising audio-visual team members and collaborative teamwork. Identify and deliver required audio-visual service levels according to company policies and user needs. Set up, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot sound equipment such as analog and digital mixers, portable speakers as well as our K-2 and JBL Cinema systems, wired and wireless microphones, basic RF coordination. Video equipment such as AMX control, IP based video encoders/decoders, projectors and cameras. Lighting equipment such as stage and theatrical fixtures, DMX control and show programming. TV displays and digital signage infrastructure, video distribution. Presentation software such as PowerPoint. Basic video switching and audio mixing skills. Teleconferencing systems such as WebEx, Zoom and video conference. Program, maintain, and troubleshoot IP based audio and video signal distribution using Dante, AMX and Q-Lab platforms. Ability to read a stage plot, advance production for concerts, coordinate rentals of audio/video and backline equipment. Receive and respond to incoming calls, texts and/or e-mails regarding A/V software/hardware problems. Perform on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex A/V hardware problems for a variety of end users; recommend and implement corrective solutions, including off-site repair as needed. Document instances of A/V equipment failure, repair, installation, and removal. Advise incoming clients, Technical Directors, Production Managers, Location Managers and the like of all and any assets and limitations of The United Palace when requested. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of A/V equipment contracts and supervise contract-based installations. Build and maintain a spare parts inventory for all A/V equipment. Keeping current with all software and A/V purchases, updates and installations company wide. Initiate and maintain a system to Label all A/V equipment owned by the organization; checking weekly inventories to mitigate risk of damage or theft. Conduct research on, and make recommendations for, A/V products in support of procurement and development efforts. Monitor the condition of all equipment and document in writing any requests for repair or replacement to Technical Production Director within a reasonable amount of time as to not be behind in maintenance of equipment. Supervise and assist all stage and set construction as well as any installation of any production equipment to document all damages and safety concerns related to the daily movement of any incoming productions, video shoots and uses of the stage and theatre This position is responsible for the strict adherences to the Information Technology department compliance policies, internal control procedures. Can thrive in an environment where priorities shift on a dime and schedule changes quickly. Performs other related duties as assigned. Education and Qualifications:
Bachelors’ degree in System Administration, Audio Engineering or related field, and four (4) years of experience OR Associates degree in System Administration, Audio Engineering or related field, and six (6) years of progressive experience OR Fifteen (15) years of progressive experience in audio video engineering and/or technical production. Theater and Entertainment touring industry experience is preferred Experience supervising and leading dynamic teams Excellent technical knowledge of teleconferencing, presentation and other A/V hardware Experience working with national level artists, coordinating equipment and labor Comprehensive hands-on A/V equipment troubleshooting experience, use of tools and basic carpentry skills. Equipment support experience with IP-based audio, lighting and video systems Good knowledge of current network protocols, operating systems, software and standards. Ability to operate tools, components, and peripheral accessories Able to read and understand technical manuals, procedural documentation, and OEM guides Ability to research hardware and software products and issues as required Ability to maintain a 24x7x365 environment Excellent written and oral communications Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language Highly self-motivated, self-directed and attentive to detail Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment Extensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment Spanish as a second language will be helpful in daily operations. Schedule must remain flexible.
Extensive experience building, managing and producing large-scale run of shows, including general sessions and important internal and external business meetings with a heavy emphasis on production. Demonstrated examples and references overseeing A/V and agency vendors, show callers, stage managers, tech crews, etc required. Live Stage and Show examples including pictures and/or video for live broadcast. Lead from ideation to execution, high-level production meetings. Support Senior Director on all creative ideas” and other event experiential shaping the industry that can take teams work to the next level. Demonstrated examples of creative ideation and execution required. Manage and track event-marketing budget. Be a strong advocate for our brand. Preferred Qualifications:
