Ball State University is seeking an innovative Stage Manager committed to planning, organizing, coordinating, and supervising the technical requirements for events, including stage setup and related production functions for performances and events at various venues on our campus. This position is responsible for ensuring the safety of performance space and crew during productions, including conducting periodic safety inspections of facilities and coordinating safety training for technical staff. The regular hours for this position will include evenings, weekends. Emens Auditorium is located in the heart of the Ball State University campus in Muncie, Indiana. The salary range for this position is $59,200-$68,600. Ball State University offers an excellent benefits package.
Major responsibilities: Supervise and coordinate all work related to production activity associated with Emens Auditorium, Pruis Hall, Sursa Hall, and other special events as directed to include, but not limited to, rigging, staging, audio/visual projection, sound enhancement or reinforcement, and theatrical or performance lighting.
Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, more than five years of full time work experience with stage production, public assembly event operations, stage management and theatre maintenance; supervisory experience; Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
Preferred qualifications: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in technical theatre, business, operations, electronics or industrial arts, more than ten years of full time experience in stage work or theatre operations; Proficiency with computer drafting software.
