The Executive Director of Entertainment at MGM National Harbor will provide leadership and strategic direction to the property’s entertainment venues and department teams, while overseeing promoter and artist relations from contract execution, budgeting, staff scheduling, and settlements. This role is responsible for driving results, managing a variety of stakeholder relationships and strategic initiatives impacting the Company’s Corporate Entertainment strategic plan. All duties are to be performed in accordance with property and MGM Resorts International policies, practices and procedures.
• Oversees the management of the ticket office, production, premium sales and front of house teams. • Oversees the contracting of DJ’s, specialty bands, musicians, celebrity entertainers, and stage shows for property events from initial contract acceptance through settlement. • Directs and tracks monthly/annual financial budget/forecast/results, monitors division expenditures, and prepares justification for budget variations, and project increases for new projects. • Directs and monitors the division operations, fiscal budgets, and marketing strategies to produce both short-term and long-term profitability for the property. • Oversees the coordination in collaboration with corporate ticketing of ticketing holds and releases, ensuring maximized revenue on a daily basis. • Partners with Corporate Entertainment team to develop and understand the strategic plan and vision for The Theater at National Harbor and property entertainment objectives. • Develops relationships with promoters, and artist representatives to ensure artists have a first-class experience from event confirmation to successful execution of events. • Oversees the development of “filler” entertainment content in partnership with local promoters and agents in The Theater at National Harbor. • Oversees premium suites and premium product to ensure revenue maximization and yielding of high-end tickets. • Collaborates with sales department on entertainment ideas and entertainment packages designed specifically for each client’s needs. • Maintains working knowledge of bookings, artists, and their impact on the property and effectively communicates those bookings and initiatives to senior management and the executive committee. • Directs Human Resources responsibilities including: creating a work environment that promotes teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect and employee satisfaction; quality hiring, training and succession planning processes that encompasses the company’s diversity commitment; adherence to the company’s status quo third party representation philosophy; compliance with company policies, legal requirements and collective bargaining agreements. • Partners and collaborates with outside hotel music provider and tech services to coordinate music play lists for the property taking into consideration property events, demographics, time of year/week/day to maximize the guest experience. • Performs other executive duties as assigned.
