The Sales and Booking Manager position is located in the Civic Center Music Hall Division of the Parks and Recreation Department, with the City of Oklahoma City and is under the direction of the Performing Arts General Manager. The Sales and Booking Manager is primarily responsible for generating revenue by promoting, selling, and booking major public events facilities. Essential job functions include: supervising and coordinating staff activities involving marketing, selling and booking events; assisting in the development and implementation of departmental policies, procedures, goals and objectives designed to create and maintain a favorable image of facilities; disseminating information to inform potential users of facility amenities, activities, and services; assisting in division budget preparation; and monitoring and forecasting operational expenditures and revenues. The position requires well-developed communication skills and the employee must maintain effective working relationships with City employees at all levels of the organization, outside agencies, media representatives, and the general public. Additionally, the position may provide technical assistance to other department staff, responding to sensitive issues and concerns and serves as Assistant Performing Arts General Manager.DEPARTMENTAL PREFERENCES •Bachelor degree in Business Management, Theater, or Entertainment Business or related field; however, applicants may substitute International Association of Venue Managers – Certified Venue Professional (CVP) or Certified Facility Executive (CFE) in lieu of degree or equal years of management level relevant experience.•A minimum of 5 years' related experience in a multi-venue theater and event complex, or similar venue.•Experience negotiating facility use agreements including all elements of technical production, front of house, merchandise, and box office operations.•Experience providing oversight of contract food and beverage operations.•Experience providing oversight of box office operations and event settlement.•Experience providing oversight of digital and social media communications.•Experience working with presenters of national touring Broadway shows.•Software experience with the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and event management systems (Ungerboeck).FULL DESCRIPTION and BENEFITS online.
