The details of your position are below: Title: Event Manager Job Type: Exempt (Staff) Description: The main purpose of this position is to facilitate the efficient operation of the Office of Event Services by supporting the event needs of internal and external clients through the management of events, preparation and maintenance of contracts, data and schedules. •Assist the Director of Event Services in the daily operation of the Office of Event Services. This includes calling on clients either via the telephone or in person and touring the facility with prospective clients. •Serve as the turn-key liaison for managing client relationships as it pertains to scheduled events hosted on the Belmont University campus. Perform event manager duties as assigned. Serve as Manager on Duty for assigned campus events. •Prepare contract and event estimate for clients. Secure event contracts, including lease agreements, usage policies, expense estimates, house policies, certificates of insurance and deposit payments. •Manage and maintain client account and database. Manage and maintain accurate billing information for each event, including the verification and processing of invoices for all vendors used (CSC, Medical, Parking and Police). •Assist in the development and distribution of materials relative to coordination, execution, sales or operations. Conduct accurate researches and concisely summarize information. •Ensure communication between the Office of Event Services and Belmont University users in a timely, complete, and accurate fashion and keep, or cause to be kept, permanent records. •Maintain applicable event/client notes which includes completing facility walk through with contracted clients before/after each event. Keep, or cause to be kept, permanent records of each event. •Hires and supervises student workers. Assists in training development and facilitation pertaining to crowd management and emergency preparedness. •Manage and schedule the “front of the house” staffing for all Office of Event Services events on campus. “Front of House” includes, but is not limited to, house managers, ushers, vendor ushers, emergency medical services, security, police and housekeeping. •Occasional travel to attend training, trade shows, meetings, and conferences. •The above statements describe the jobs essential responsibilities and requirements. Education: Bachelor’s degree with course of study in business, finance, sports administration or performing arts or equivalent experience 2 to 1.
Experience: Two years’ experience in arena, theater, convention center or hospitality operations/sales. Equivalent education may be substituted

Candidate must be familiar with the operation of an event center or facility and event life cycle from booking to post event wrap up in order to answer inquiries about available dates, estimate client expenses, explain usage policies, contract the event, and fully execute the needs of the event including production, technical support, facilities etc.
Basic understanding of OSHA and crowd control requirements.
Professional oral and written skills are essential.
Must be able to create and maintain spreadsheet data in MS Excel and use MS Word for correspondence and contract documents.
Prefer candidate with room-scheduling software experience such EMS.
Ability to facilitate client needs while maintaining Belmont property.
Experience working in a fast-paced environment and the ability to respond to high-pressure situations.
Ability to thrive in an environment of hard work.
