Hancher Auditorium is seeking an A/V Lighting Specialist to help direct and operate all aspects of audio, video projectors, lighting, and theatrical systems for the 1800 seat Hadley Stage and 200 seat Strauss Hall in Hancher Auditorium. The A/V and Lighting Specialist will lead, supervise, and train both student and union stagehands and assist in maintaining the sound, video, and lighting equipment. For some programming, the Audio/Video and Lighting Specialist may work as a creative team member, designing sound, video/projection, or lighting for a production. This position reports to the Production Manager and is a full time, year-round position.
A Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA/BFA) in technical theatre or related field; or an equivalent combination of relevant work experience and education
6 months - 1 year of related professional theatre work experience • Demonstrated experience with technical theatre equipment and maintenance to include audio, lighting, rigging, projection, and orchestra shell set-up. • Demonstrated experience with computers, ETC equipment, Vectorworks, AutoCAD, QLab, AVID, and dB speakers or equivalents. • Demonstrated experience working with student and union stagehands, Broadway tours, and performing arts touring productions. • A professional attitude with a high level of customer service and effective verbal and written communication skills. • The ability to work flexible hours, which include nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
