Job Summary Do you have facility operation experience and are passionate about thinking outside the box? Are you a creative problem solver who is also an exceptional leader? As the Supervisor of the Small Arms Centre, you will work with the Manager, Museums and SAIB to supervise overall operations, facility rentals, partnerships and programming at the City of Mississauga’s newest creative hub. This recently transformed heritage site will become a unique and significant showcase for various forms of creative expression, celebrations and innovative collaborations. Duties and Responsibilities •Develop ways to make the facility more accessible for artists and creatives •Oversee the administration of contracts and booking agreements related to the Small Arms Facility •Ensure due diligence is carried out in all areas of risk management and safety training •Lead event staff, volunteers and community partners with developing and implementing SAIB programming and events that attract residents and visitors to the facility year-round •Grow and develop SAIB programs and activities, with internal and external stakeholders, to make the facility one of Mississauga's premiere arts and culture facilities •Develop and implement annual work plan and operating plans. •Contribute to the development of multi-year business plans •Develop innovative partnerships with private sector partners and cultural organizations
Skills and Qualifications •Graduate from a recognized university or college in arts facility management, event management, communications, business administration, social sciences, or a related field •Have a minimum of 3 years in a related capacity with progressively responsible leadership experience •Demonstrate leadership, team building skills and an ability to work in a flexible team environment with changing priorities •Have event production skills and marketing experience •Demonstrate presentation skills and experience •Possess a passionate understanding and commitment to Mississauga's arts and culture community •Have experience working with diverse individuals, volunteers, culture groups, governance boards, and heritage groups •Have exceptional leadership skills and strong interpersonal skills
